Third Base: your job on every play

The third baseman takes throws at third and makes the call on them, becomes the cutoff man on throws home from left, and repeats the catcher's calls on doubles. On bunts he crashes, stays home or rotates depending on the runners and the coverage.

The third baseman's rules

  • When the throw comes to third, you make the call.
  • With a runner on second, you're the cutoff man on a single to left.
  • On a double with the throw going home, repeat the catcher's calls to the relay man.
  • With a runner on second, stay home on a bunt unless the coverage sends you.
